Your Odoo implementation project: from scoping to Go-Live
Karizma deploys Odoo ERP end to end in Morocco: scoping, configuration, data migration, training and go-live. More than 350 ERP projects delivered across more than 20 countries since 2013, with full Moroccan localisation (DGI accounting, VAT, CNSS payroll, e-invoicing) and unlimited bug fixing through Karizma One.
Updated: July 2026
Too many ERP projects get bogged down: unclear scope, drifting budgets, teams that never buy in. Since 2013, we have deployed Odoo within a firm framework — scope, timeline and budget locked before we start — and a contractual Go-Live.

Sound familiar?
Three situations we see every week among business leaders.
Excel everywhere, information nowhere
Quotes, inventory and accounting live in separate files. Every consolidation takes days — and no one has the same figure.
Systems that don't talk to each other
One application per department, daily re-keying, and gaps impossible to reconcile between sales, logistics and finance.
No real-time visibility
Margins, cash flow, outstanding balances: you steer with three-week-old figures, rebuilt by hand for every board meeting.
From scoping to Go-Live, every stage under control
A clear framework, defined responsibilities and sign-offs at every milestone. No surprises on budget or timeline.
Pre-scoping
Understanding your challenges, indicative scope and feasibility.
Scoping & Design
Business workshops, prioritised backlog, firm budget and timeline.
Build & Configuration
Configuration, custom developments and data migration.
Testing & Training
User acceptance testing by your teams, adjustments and skills transfer.
Go-Live
Controlled cutover, close support and hypercare.
Run & Support
Support, enhancements and continuous optimisation after launch.
What you get at each stage
An Odoo project is not steered on gut feeling. Here is what comes out of each stage, how long it takes, and who signs it off on your side.
| Stage | Deliverable | Typical duration | Sign-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-scoping | Scope note and budget estimate | 1 week | Executive management |
| Scoping & Design | Functional design document, gap matrix, data migration plan | 2 to 4 weeks | Key users and IT |
| Build & Configuration | Configured test environment, custom developments delivered | 4 to 10 weeks | Client project manager |
| Testing & Training | Signed test book, trained users, written procedures | 2 to 4 weeks | Key users |
| Go-Live | Production switchover, opening balances, enhanced support | 1 to 2 weeks | Executive management |
| Run & Support | Contractual support, version upgrades, enhancements | Ongoing | Steering committee |
These durations apply to a scope of three to six modules. A multi-company project, or one involving manufacturing, extends them. We say so at pre-scoping, not at Go-Live.
Where ERP projects actually derail
It is almost never the configuration that pushes a Go-Live back. It is the state of the data in the legacy system, discovered too late.
What we migrate
Partners, products, open accounting balances, stock, work in progress. Not the full history: it stays available in the legacy system.
Who cleans what
Business clean-up stays with you: only you know which customer is still active. We provide the templates and the consistency checks.
The dry run
A full trial migration before testing. It surfaces duplicates, date formats and unreconciled accounts while there is still time to fix them.
The switchover
Entry freeze, final balances migrated, signed reconciliation. On a Friday evening, not a Monday morning.
Four signals that derail an Odoo project
After 350 deployments, the same causes keep coming back. Here is how we handle them before they cost a quarter.
No decision-maker in the loop
A decision that waits three weeks shifts the whole schedule. Safeguard: a named sponsor and a steering committee every two weeks.
Scope creep
Every "while we are at it" pushes Go-Live back. Safeguard: every addition goes to wave 2, tracked and costed. Never refused, never improvised.
Custom before standard
Rebuilding the legacy system inside Odoo means paying for its flaws twice. Safeguard: standard first, custom only where the business case is written down.
Training too early
Users trained three months before Go-Live have forgotten everything. Safeguard: training runs in the two weeks before switchover.
