Karizma One vs Odoo.sh: which platform to host and grow your Odoo?

Odoo.sh is the publisher's hosting platform. Karizma One is a complete platform: sovereign infrastructure, business integration, DevOps without technical skills, autonomous AI agents and payment accounts. This comparison sets out what each one actually covers, and when to choose which.

The short answer

Choose Odoo.sh if…

you have an in-house technical team that is comfortable with Git, you want the publisher's own platform aligned with its roadmap, and where your data resides is not a constraint.

Choose Karizma One if…

you have no technical team, your data must stay in Morocco or Africa, and you expect a partner who delivers the business layer — not just the infrastructure.

What Odoo.sh covers

Let us give the product its due: Odoo.sh is a good hosting platform, built by the publisher for technical teams.

Managed infrastructure

Hosting on Google Cloud, with automatic provisioning and updates aligned with Odoo releases.

Branches and environments

Production, staging and development branches, driven from a Git repository.

Production backups

Daily backup of the production database, retained over several months.

Publisher alignment

The official platform: its roadmap follows Odoo SA's directly.

The five differences that actually decide

1. Where your data lives

Odoo.sh has no Moroccan region and no sub-Saharan African region, and its documentation states that the data-centre location is not contractually guaranteed. For a public body, a regulated sector or a company subject to law 09-08, that point settles the question on its own.

2. What is left to do afterwards

Odoo.sh hands you infrastructure. You then need an integrator for the business layer, an agency for the web, a vendor for AI. Karizma One delivers the whole set under a single contract.

3. The real cost of fixes

On Odoo.sh, every defect is billable time from your integrator. On Karizma One, bug fixing is unlimited and included — the run budget becomes predictable.

4. The technical barrier

Odoo.sh assumes you handle Git and understand branches. Karizma One is designed to be operated without technical skills: you describe what you need and the platform builds it.

5. Functional scope

Autonomous AI agents, payment accounts, employee cards, Moroccan banking connectors: none of these exist on Odoo.sh and each would be a separate project.

When Odoo.sh remains the right call

An honest comparison has to say where the competitor wins. These are real situations, and we say so to the customers concerned.

You have an in-house technical team

Developers who are autonomous on Git and on Odoo administration do not need the abstraction layer Karizma One provides.

No data-residency constraint

If your data can sit outside Morocco and outside Africa with no regulatory difficulty, the sovereignty argument does not apply.

You are only looking for infrastructure

If business integration, local support and financial services are already covered elsewhere, the publisher's offer is enough.

You want the publisher's own platform

Some boards make the strategic choice to stay with the publisher for roadmap alignment. That is a defensible decision.

Migrating from Odoo.sh to Karizma One

The migration is a mapped-out process, with no interruption to your operations.

1

Audit

Review of custom code, installed modules, data volume and the integrations already in place.

2

Replication

The environment is rebuilt in the chosen region, then the data is fully migrated.

3

Acceptance

Functional validation with your teams on a test environment, before any switch-over.

4

Switch-over

Planned go-live within a short window, with rollback available at any point.

Frequently asked questions

Does Odoo.sh offer hosting in Morocco?

No. The Odoo.sh documentation lists Google Cloud regions in the United States, Canada, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, India, Singapore and Australia. There is no Moroccan region and no sub-Saharan African region. Karizma One offers hosting in Morocco, Europe or Africa, at the customer's choice.

Is data residency guaranteed on Odoo.sh?

The platform's documentation states that the underlying hosting provider and the location of the data centres within a zone are not contractually guaranteed. On Karizma One, the hosting region is a contractual commitment.

Do you need a GitHub account to use Odoo.sh?

Yes, Odoo.sh works with GitHub repositories. Karizma One accepts GitHub or GitLab, and above all lets you work without managing a repository at all.

Are test environments backed up on Odoo.sh?

No. The documentation states that development and staging environments are neither backed up nor guaranteed for restoration. Only the production database is. On Karizma One, test environments are backed up.

Is Karizma One more expensive than Odoo.sh?

The two offers do not cover the same scope: Odoo.sh bills infrastructure, on top of which come integration and fixes billed by the hour. Karizma One includes infrastructure, integration, unlimited bug fixing and monitoring in a single subscription. The meaningful comparison is total cost of ownership, not the hosting line item.

Can you migrate from Odoo.sh to Karizma One without downtime?

Yes. The switch-over is planned within a short window, after full validation on a test environment, with rollback available.
